About Ulster
Known as “The Hudson Valley’s Gateway to Beauty and Business,” Ulster appeals to visitors of all lifestyles in search of an escape to the great outdoors.
The town of Ulster is known as “The Hudson Valley’s Gateway to Beauty and Business.” It continues to grow and thrive due, in part, to its excellent location: nestled in the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains, right off Exit 19 on the New York State Thruway. Ulster almost completely surrounds the city of Kingston.
Ulster is noted for its appeal to many different lifestyles. Residents and neighboring communities enjoy Ulster’s beautiful Charles Rider Park and Robert Post Park, both along the Hudson River, where there are plenty of places to picnic and fish. Ulster also has boat launches on Esopus and Rondout creeks.
From Ulster, visitors have easy access to great skiing, fishing, boating, hiking, theater, music, historical sites, shopping, fairs and festivals, and restaurants and hotels.
