Halfway between Albany and New York City is Highland, in the town of Lloyd, known for the Walkway Over the Hudson, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge.
About Johnson-Iorio Memorial Park
Passive park, picnic tables, vistas of the Hudson River. A memorial to two men killed in the Vietnam War: R.E. Johnson, March 1, 1967; L. R. Iorio, May 18, 1968. Cliffs are located directly behind the park; woods are on top of the cliff top. Great view of Poughkeepsie. Along the waterfront, from north to south, you can see: The Pavilion, Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, The Railway Station, Dooley Square. Mid-Hudson Bridge and Kaal Rock Park.
