Esopus Creel

Welcome to The Catskills, the birthplace of American fly fishing! Esopus Creel is a full-service fly shop offering sales and gear rentals. Owners Todd Spire & Paul Schiavo are both New York State licensed fishing guides and offer fly fishing instruction and guided trips on the Esopus Creek and surrounding waters. They also host dinners and informal gatherings to help connect our communities through a shared love of food, fishing, and the fabled waters of the Catskill Mountains. Join them in the middle of the river where you'll experience the grace and skills of one of man's oldest sports. Along the way you'll learn how aspects of geology, history, and ecology have come together to form these fabled fisheries. Their shop is open Mondays and Thursdays 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturdays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sundays 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
