Storytelling! Mixing and mingling! Live performance by RuPaul’s Drag Race star Laganja Estranja! Voices in Action, TMI Project’s biggest event of the year, is back after a three year hiatus!
TMI Project’s annual night of performance and storytelling returns to Kingston on September 28th with a performance by Laganja Estranja, trans activist and star of RuPaul’s Drag Race, as well as a true storytelling showcase, and celebration of Hudson Valley changemakers.
Voices in Action offers a vision of the world we want to live in, celebrating joyful performance, vibrant community, and radically true storytelling along with great music, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres! If you can’t make it in person, virtual attendance will also be available via livestream.
Laganja Estranja will receive the 2023 Voices in Action award in honor of her groundbreaking work as a drag performer and trans activist. Named in 2019 by New York Magazine as one of the “Most Powerful Drag Queens in America”, Laganga Estranja will perform her signature high-energy choreography and original music at the showcase. “Being a drag queen in itself is inherently political and being trans is even more so,” says Laganja, “I’m going to be part of a wave of change.”
The award will be presented by Celeste Lecesne, co-founder of The Trevor Project and 2018 Voices in Action honoree.
