History books tell us a lot about generals and politicians, but what was life like for the “ordinary people” who lived in our area? This presentation will attempt to answer this question by looking at the various households associated with John C.Brodhead, an early resident of Plattekill, who was born during the Revolutionary War and died just before the start of the Civil War.
