Get Ready! It’s almost Duck Season!

Vision of Wallkill and Wallkill Senior Celebration Committee will host their 3rd Duck Derby on the Wallkill River on Saturday, May 11. Activities start at noon. Race starts at 3 pm.

Thousands of yellow rubber ducks will be launched into the Wallkill River at Popp Memorial Park, each contending to cross the finish line to claim a coveted “Fastest Duck” award and cash prize.

Volunteer kayakers are needed to corral and usher the floating ducks along the Wallkill River. Anyone wishing to volunteer for this year’s event (expert kayakers are greatly needed), email visionofwallkill12589@yahoo.com now.

Free event to the public. Want to “adopt” a duck for the race? Contact a member of VOW or Wallkill High School Senior Celebration Committee. Or stop by one of the locations below. $5/duck or a 6-quack for $25.
