Amram was part of a community of artists, including Charlie Mingus, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Jack Kerouac, and has collaborated with Leonard Bernstein, Bob Dylan, Arthur Miller, Pete Seeger, Joseph Papp, Allen Ginsberg, Langston Hughes, Patti Smith, Paquito d’Rivera, Thelonious Monk, Woody Guthrie, Johnny Depp and others.
