Minnewaska State Park Preserve is located on the dramatic Shawangunk Mountain Ridge. Listed as "Best Park""by Hudson Valley Magazine. There are 35 miles of carriage roads, 50 miles of foot paths, four sky lakes and several waterfalls. Hiking, rock climbing cliffs and bouldering, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, boating, picnicking, swimming, snowshoeing and snowshoe rentals. The terrain is rugged and rocky, blanketed by dense forests encircling three sky lakes. Clear streams cut into valleys, incising sheer cliffs and ledges emerge as waterfalls. Guided hikes and nature programs are provided for the public every month. Day fee for non-members. The Park Preserve opens daily at 9 a.m., April 1 - December 1 (weather permitting). Call for ski conditions, closing times and fees. No pets.
