Red, White, and BOOM! Block Party

(July 3rd, 5pm-9pm)

Head over to Joseph Y. Resnick Airport in Napanoch for an evening of food, music, and community fun. There’s something nostalgic about a classic block party, and this one captures that spirit perfectly. Whether you’re bringing the family or making it a date night, this is a wonderful way to ease into the holiday weekend.

THE MAIN EVENT: JULY 4TH CELEBRATIONS

Saugerties Parade & Fireworks

There’s something quintessentially American about a small-town Fourth of July parade, and Saugerties delivers exactly that. The parade kicks off at 11am along Washington Avenue (at Robert Moser Drive), but arrive early to snag a good spot! After the parade, stick around for a baseball game at Cantine Memorial Field (6:15pm start time), followed by fireworks at 10pm. This is a full day of summer celebration that captures the heart of what Independence Day is all about.

Sparkle and Shine Community Celebration

(5pm-10pm, $5 admission | Kids under 10 FREE)

At the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz, this community-focused event offers family-friendly entertainment and activities. The “Bringing Local to Light” theme celebrates what makes Ulster County special, with activities, food, and entertainment throughout the evening.

July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at Walkway Over the Hudson

(6pm-9:30pm)

This is one of the most iconic celebration spots in the region. The Walkway Over the Hudson in Highland offers stunning views while watching fireworks light up the sky above this historic structure. Plan to arrive early, bring a blanket, and settle in for an evening of pure Independence Day magic.

Free Music & Fireworks at TR Gallo Park

(6:30pm, FREE admission)

EXTEND THE CELEBRATIONS

Sometimes the best celebrations are the ones that don’t require a ticket. Kingston’s TR Gallo Park hosts free live music starting at 6:30pm followed by a fantastic fireworks display. It’s a wonderful option if you want all the patriotic spirit without the admission fee.

Town of Lloyd Old Fashioned Fireworks

(July 11th, 6pm-9:30pm)

If you want to keep the celebration going, the Town of Lloyd Events Committee is hosting traditional fireworks at Tony Williams Town Park in Highland.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Arrive Early

These events draw crowds from across the Hudson Valley and beyond. For popular spots like the Walkway Over the Hudson fireworks, arriving well before the festivities start ensures good viewing positions.

Bring the Essentials

Pack a blanket or folding chairs, bug spray, sunscreen, and perhaps a light jacket for evening events.

Plan Your Route

With eight major celebrations happening across the county, there’s a temptation to “fireworks hop.” However, picking one or two events and fully immersing in them often creates a better experience than rushing between locations.
