Learn the skills you need, from framing and storyboarding to shooting and editing, to express your point of view through creation of video art. Over 4 sessions, you’ll learn the various types of camera angles and foundational rules for framing that make a moving image both aesthetically pleasing and expressive, as well as the basics of how to cut and rearrange video footage into a meaningful scene or sequence. What You Will Learn: An introduction to film theory and storytelling techniques; Basic building blocks of the cinematic language; Techniques of video production; Elements in video-making to tell interesting stories; Brainstorming of film ideas and analyzing short films; Composition techniques to compose proper shots; Storyboard, script, shoot your own short film (Using your phone if you don’t own a camera – the objective; to come out with a series of shots that tell a story, no editing necessary); An overview of filmmaking tools (camera accessories, editing software options, etc.), even if not used in this course; Develop a deeper understanding and fondness for films and how they are crafted, sparking a long-lasting desire to create in YOU!
