The Historical Society of Woodstock will present Ulster County Historian Eddie Moran speaking about the county’s indigenous inhabitants, the Esopus, during the American Revolution. In the lead up to the American Revolution, Ulster County’s Indigenous inhabitants, the Esopus, navigated a world already transformed by colonization, diplomacy, and dispossession. As war engulfed the region, their community faced difficult choices, mounting violence, and profound upheaval that reshaped their lives and homelands.
