The Mod House

Located 90 minutes from Manhattan, the Mod House of Ellenville is a 4 bedroom midcentury modern lodge and social club located in Ellenville, NY, nestled at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge, part of the Catskills region of upstate New York. Our bedrooms are available as “bed and booze” stays, with complimentary wine, beer, fruit, pastries, and access to our events.
Built in 1964 by a follower of Frank Lloyd Wright, the Mod House is a mid-century modern architectural treasure spanning 4200 square feet, over 3 acres of private, wooded land, with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a huge, open plan layout that connects each room to nature, and encourages wandering, creativity, and large gatherings. Mod House is solar powered, and is focused on sustainability through composting, energy conservation, and churns out fresh herbs and vegetables from its garden, watered by stored rain water.
