About Saugerties
One of America’s coolest small towns, Saugerties boasts a vibrant village filled with antique stores and vintage shops, and ample opportunities for outdoor recreation.
Atop the hill looking out over Catskill Animal Sanctuary’s 150 acres sits The Homestead. Our Homestead Manager, Michelle, eagerly anticipates your arrival. A continental breakfast with some homemade granola, fresh berries, fruit, yogurt, muffins and of course coffee, tea, and non-dairy creamers/milks along with some juice to start your morning!
Built in 1813, The Homestead has been meticulously and conscientiously restored with eco-friendly materials, many of them salvaged from old barns, while still featuring the original wide-plank wood floors, exposed brick walls, elegant fireplaces and rocking chair porch. There are three guest rooms with shared large bathroom and a Master Suite with private bathroom, living area and queen bedroom each named after a beloved animal.
As a guest of The Homestead, you can also schedule a tour of the Sanctuary and spend time with our rescued animals. Come unwind — it’s time to exhale!
