About Shawangunk Grasslands National Wildlife Refuge

This 597-acre wildlife refuge operates to conserve the biological diversity of the Wallkill Valley. ADA-accessible observation area provides spectacular views of the Shawangunks and the many species of grassland birds, wintering raptors and endangered species. A 3.6-mile hiking trail, five observation blinds, restroom. Open sunrise to sunset 7 days per week. Accessible. Child and group friendly. No pets allowed.
