About Kingston
In Kingston — New York’s first state capital — history collides with the modern day to create an interesting and hip destination.
Spruce Design + Decor was founded in 2003 by John Krenek and Jamie Niblock.
The store represents an unexpected blend of 20th Century furnishings, art, lighting, and decorative objects. The eclectic mix includes an ever-changing vintage selection of both American and European midcentury masters, along with many hand selected pieces that simply have incredible style. Located in the historic stockade district of Kingston NY, the shop is the result of two men's passion for collecting and seeking out the rare and unique.
Spruce Design + Decor's mission is to bring to life a particular point of view about the fashion of interiors and to help it's customers build and shape interiors that possess exceptional style and design. Words like warmth, curated, sexy, comfortable, layered and worldly are often used to describe the Spruce Design + Decor style. One customer recently wrote "Your shop is wonderful. I feel like I am in someone's beautiful home. The scents, the sounds and of course, the furnishings make it just perfect.".
In 2005, Spruce Design + Decor began offering interior decorating services. The scope of projects is varied and ranges from private residences to commercial and showroom spaces. We work on projects of all sizes and budgets and the goal is to help our clients create personalized spaces that incorporate their own taste and lifestyle. Recent projects include numerous homes in New York City, the Catskills, Westchester County and a Miami residence. Past residential work has been featured in Elle Decor, New York Home Magazine, ID Design Magazine and Domino Magazine. Additionally, Spruce Design + Decor created the interiors for the New York City showroom of luxury carpet maker Edward Fields. This project garnered much praise and was on the cover of Interior Design Magazine in February 2008. Additional showrooms for Edward Fields have since been designed for Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Dallas.
Posh hotels, retro-inspired inns, tricked-out cabins and cozy B&Bs are just some of the lodging options.
