SUMMARY:Rasputina w/ Dust Bowl Faeries at Tempo - Kingston
DESCRIPTION:RASPUTINA\nPioneering rock-cello trio Rasputina is back from a long hiatus. Much loved for their twisted takes on classic-rock hits and supremely original originals\, this Traveling Ladies Cello Society will touch your heart and scorch your brain. They’ve played in\, for or with such greats as Nirvana\, Marilyn Manson\, Bob Mould and Porno for Pyros. It’s 1896 all over again! \nDUST BOWL FAERIES\nDust Bowl Faeries perform a faerie-tale medley of dark cabaret and gothic polka music\, infused with a dose of witchcraft and a dusting of woodland magic. The accordion driven freak-folk ensemble hails from the New York Hudson Valley and draws inspiration from circus music\, murder ballads and Eastern European folk songs. Singing saw\, piano accordion\, lap-steel\, electric bass\, percussion and acoustic guitar combine to create the Dust Bowl Faeries otherworldly sound.

SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Josh Kramb - What We Carry
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE EXHIBITION\nActive and embodied\, “carry” implies weight\, effort\, and choice\, tying together the wood-panel drawings (history living inside present bodies) and Interactive Erasure (visitors physically carrying out the labor of revealing what’s underneath). The collective “we” pulls the viewer into implication rather than distance\, and the title bridges past and present without needing to spell out “history” or “memory” outright — giving both bodies of work a shared through-line. \nARTIST STATEMENT\nI make art for people who avoid talking about race\, so they can open up and have honest\, productive conversations. \nAround 2020\, my practice underwent a significant shift\, moving from searching for meaning to investigating it. That change was shaped by the murder of George Floyd\, an event that forced me to confront my own relationship to race\, injustice\, and silence. Since then\, my work has centered on social justice\, racial inequality\, and the historical systems of oppression embedded in American culture. I believe America is trapped in a cycle of perpetual inequity. My work seeks to slow that cycle down\, to examine and expose the structures that sustain it. Drawing has become a way of peeling back the anxiety surrounding race and exploring where honest conversation might lead. \nI am currently investigating historical truths related to slavery through objects of oppression. I work on wood panels\, where the natural grain functions as a surface already marked by time. Objects are drawn in pen and ink with figures layered over them in ink and coffee washes\, creating a dialogue between object\, figure\, and surface that suggests history living inside the present bodies. These works are intentionally small in scale\, creating deliberate intimacy. Each piece functions as a drawing and as a study for something larger — an ongoing investigation into acknowledgment\, reflection\, and what art can open that ordinary conversation cannot. \nExhibition Dates: Oct 31 – Dec 6\, 2026

SUMMARY:Leenalchi (South Korean Pansori Pop)
DESCRIPTION:Leenalchi (EEE-nal-chi) — the seven-piece Seoul-based band led by bassist Jang Young Gyu — announce their Luaka Bop debut\, a new EP entitled Here Comes That Crow\, out June 12th\, and a North American tour. In conjunction with today’s announcements\, they present the video for lead single and title track\, “Here Comes That Crow.” The music of Leenalchi is taken from pansori\, a traditional Korean style of musical storytelling often compared to opera. Rooted in shamanism and developed during the Joseon Dynasty (17th century)\, these songs tell epic tales of love\, virtue\, sorrow\, and dragon kings. As if reverberating in our ears from a spiritual plane\, the sounds emitting from Leenalchi’s singers are transcendent. Their line-up\, as singular as their sound\, features two bassists\, drums\, keys\, no guitar\, and four singers. \nThe psychedelic riffs found in Leenalchi’s songs are courtesy of Jang\, the band’s enigmatic leader\, who looms large in the country’s small but dedicated indie music scene. An NPR Tiny Desk concert of one of his former bands\, SsingSsing\, racked up 9.9 million views on YouTube and was praised by Tiny Desk founder Bob Boilen as “one of my most memorable Tiny Desk Concerts of all time.” He’s also a prestigious film composer\, scoring soundtracks for some of Korea’s most celebrated movies like Train to Busan\, The Wailing\, and The Good\, the Bad\, the Weird.

SUMMARY:ADULT. & A Place to Bury Strangers
DESCRIPTION:ADULT.\nWith over 23 years working and a sprawling discography to show for that labor\, Adam Lee Miller and Nicola Kuperus have spent their entire career as ADULT. obscuring any defined genre or style\, writing and recording albums as art for life’s sake. On their latest album\, the group are back at it with some discordant\, doom dance sludge to mark their 9th studio album Becoming Undone. Written between November 2020 and April 2021\, the album might be the bands most non-conformant yet. Sure there’s plenty of dance bangers\, but ultimately the album is riddled with impermanence\, loss and looping dissatisfactions. \nA PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS\nFans around the world know Oliver Ackermann always brings surprises. For nearly two decades\, the singer and guitarist of New York City’s A Place To Bury Strangers has fused post-punk\, noise-rock\, shoegaze\, psychedelia\, and avant-garde experimentation into music that feels volatile and alive. As the founder of Death By Audio\, he’s extended that same spirit through his signal-scrambling effects\, empowering artists everywhere to push sound past its limits. Onstage\, A Place To Bury Strangers delivers a shamanistic experience—immersive\, feral\,\nand electrifying—where real-time experiments and sudden breakthroughs collide.

SUMMARY:Deerhoof w/ New Orthodox + Raven Chacon
DESCRIPTION:The legendary Deerhoof brings their explosive blend of noise\, punk energy\, and avant-pop melodies back to the Northeast! \nDeerhoof have aged like a fine wine\, and continue to play with the same joy and fury they have since their mid-90s birth. They’ve influenced generations of experimental and indie musicians\, while continuing to reinvent themselves with each release. They’ve created a catalogue spanning more than 20 acclaimed albums ranging from surrealistic pop to urgent art-punk. With the band pulling their music from Spotify a year ago\, this is the moment to experience Deerhoof the way it’s meant to be – loud and direct.
