SUMMARY:A Light on the River: The Lighthouse Keepers of the Gilded Age
DESCRIPTION:The position of Lighthouse Keeper is an antiquated job. It calls to mind loneliness\, isolation\, and in rare cases\, even madness. But at this lecture and performance\, you will learn what it was really like to be a lighthouse keeper. You’ll meet the Murdocks\, a family that kept the Rondout Light for generations. Then\, be transported to Kingston in 1884 as the Murdocks receive surprise visitors in the midst of preparing for a storm. This experience will include a short lecture as well as a full length play. \nThis project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.

SUMMARY:A Light on the River: The Lighthouse Keepers of the Gilded Age
DESCRIPTION:The position of Lighthouse Keeper is an antiquated job. It calls to mind loneliness\, isolation\, and in rare cases\, even madness. But at this lecture and performance\, you will learn what it was really like to be a lighthouse keeper. You’ll meet the Murdocks\, a family that kept the Rondout Light for generations. Then\, be transported to Kingston in 1884 as the Murdocks receive surprise visitors in the midst of preparing for a storm. This experience will include a short lecture as well as a full length play. \nThis project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.

DESCRIPTION:Got2Lindy rotates through three different beginner class series (intro to single step series\, intro to triple step series\, intro to 8-count series). This allows students to focus on learning one footwork pattern at a time and on building a vocabulary of basic moves that build a strong foundation before moving up. Students may do any of the beginner series in any order\, as they each stand alone to build your basics. Just jump in! \nBEGINNER SERIES: Intro to 6-count Triple Step \nThis series introduces triple step six-count footwork\, leading and following moves in closed and open positions including the send out\, bring in\, inside turn\, sweetheart\, free side pass\, and more. \nThis is a FOUR-WEEK SERIES. Learn and review each week. \nNOTE: Class dates are June 9\, 16\, 23\, 30 \nNo Prerequisite\, No Partner or Experience Needed. New students are welcome each month. \nATTENDANCE POLICY: \nStudents may start up to the second week of each new series. We always review. Students may mix and match locations to suit their schedule or make up any missed classes at our Marlboro location.
