DESCRIPTION:Arts Society of Kingston (ASK) presents three new exhibitions exploring landscape\, memory\, identity\, and the extraordinary beauty found in the natural world and everyday life. \nIn the Spotlight Gallery\, Iceland by 4 features photography by Chris Acosta\, Lee Courtney\, Mark Howenstein\, and John Verner\, offering four distinct perspectives on Iceland’s dramatic landscapes and ever-changing light. \nIn the Members Gallery\, Poetry of the Ordinary\, ASK’s annual juried members exhibition\, celebrates the beauty\, mystery\, and meaning found in everyday life through a diverse range of artistic perspectives. \nIn the Front Gallery\, Echoes of the Ancestral by Argentinian-American artist Elisa Pritzker features two-dimensional\, three-dimensional\, and installation works exploring collective memory\, ancestral identity\, and the enduring connections between past and present. The exhibition celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. \nAll three exhibitions are on view September 5–27\, with a free public opening reception on Saturday\, September 5\, from 3pm to 5pm. Flannagan\, and Hartman’s husband Paul Fiene\, who joined her as part of an outstanding group of twentieth century American artists who were devoted to depicting animal subjects.
