SUMMARY:Coyote Island LIVE
DESCRIPTION:Coyote Island is the musical vision of Maine-based producer\, songwriter\, and multi-instrumentalist Mike O’Hehir. Assembling a band of brothers\, they have blended folk roots\, reggae rhythms\, and psychedelic indie\, the band crafts music that feels like a sonic escape. \nFrom their breakout release “Here Before” to their latest album\, Shadow Magic (2025)\, they’ve expanded their sound into deeper grooves and vivid storytelling—melding tropical textures\, hypnotic beats\, and a spirit of reflection. Described as both electric and transportive\, Coyote Island’s live shows offer tropical psychedelia and a sonic vacation from the doldrums of existence.

DESCRIPTION:Join master singer-songwriter Steve Earle for an intimate solo and acoustic concert at the TEMPO Performing Arts Center to benefit Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. A protege of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark\, Steve Earle quickly became a master storyteller in his own right\, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash\, Waylon Jennings\, Joan Baez\, Emmylou Harris\, The Pretenders\, and countless others. DESCRIPTION:THE BRIDGE ACROSS TIME\nYou are invited to an evening of cinema\, music and community!\nJoin us for a screening of the in-process documentary\, THE BRIDGE ACROSS TIME – followed by an interview with composer Peter Wetzler and Tempo’s Tom Krueger exploring the interconnectivity of music\, history and community and a World Premiere performance of SANCTU. \nAbout the Film:\nThe film offers a sweeping\, behind-the-scenes look at the restoration of the century-old\nWurts Street Bridge and explores its fascinating history. The work is captured in unprecedented detail. Rare archival material contrasts the bridge’s original 1920 build with its modern-day renewal. The rescue of this iconic\, century-old suspension bridge serves as an inspiring reminder to safeguard our historic landmarks that enrich our communities. \nAbout the Concert\,\nThe world premiere performance of SANCTU\, the name drawn from both Sanctus and Sanctuary\, was composed by Peter Wetzler for this special GAMELAN KINGSTON concert. Peter “harvested” the sounds from different parts of the bridge – cables\, steel and ambient environmental soundscapes.\nGAMELAN KINGSTON\, is a group of composers and performers exploring the musical possibilities of Gamelan in contemporary and traditional styles.

SUMMARY:Ars Choralis Presents "Mozart at Maverick"
DESCRIPTION:Award-winning chorus Ars Choralis\, known for its innovative programming and led by Artistic Director Barbara Pickhardt\, is pleased to announce its next concert – Mozart at Maverick – continuing our celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. \nPresented on June 20 at 7pm and June 21 at 4pm\, at Maverick Concert Hall\, Woodstock\, NY\, the program features the Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-91)\, alongside Edson Hymns and Fuguing Tunes. This suite of postcolonial American hymns by composers Lewis Edson (1748-1820) and his son Lewis Edson Jr. (1771-1845)\, contemporaries of Mozart\, was orchestrated by Henry Cowell (1897-1965). At the time\, Cowell was living in Shady\, New York\, outside Woodstock\, where the father-and-son composers had also settled in the early 19th century. Rounding out the program is An Anthem for Thanksgiving by William Billings (1746-1800)\, considered the first American choral composer. Juxtaposing the Requiem\, one of the greatest European choral compositions\, with traditional American songs written in the same era contrasts the courtly European style with American music of the colonists. \nJoining Ars Choralis will be soloists Lauren Nash Silberstein\, Maria Bedo-Calhoun\, Harvey Boyer and Andrew Burger\, along with a chamber orchestra. \nTicket prices are $35 at the door\, $30 in advance\, and $10 for students.
