Ernest Withers: The Picture Taker

The Woodstock Film Festival is thrilled to announce a special pre-festival event featuring the work of Ernest C. Withers, a renowned chronicler of the African American experience in the segregated South and subject of the documentary film THE PICTURE TAKER, which will have its world premiere screening at the upcoming festival, September 28th – October 2nd.
The opening will take place at Aaron Rezny’s photo studio and gallery in Kingston, Saturday September 3rd in celebration of the world premiere of THE PICTURE TAKER. The film’s director Phil Bertelsen will be in attendance to discuss Withers’ ground-breaking work and fascinating career. The exhibit runs through October 23, 2022. Municipal parking is available across the street from the gallery.
The gallery will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 – 5:00 pm as well as by appointment throughout the week. Center for Photography Woodstock galleries are free & open to the public.
