Ashokan Center screens silent film ‘The Man Without a World’
February 25 @ 7:00 pm
Free – $20
The Ashokan Center will screen the silent film “The Man Without a World,” accompanied by an original live klezmer music score performed by Alicia Svigals (violin) and Donald Sosin, (piano). The 1992 independent film centers on life in a Jewish “Shtetl” in Poland in the late 1920s and is shot in a style that recalls the heyday of silent film. It touches upon Zionism, socialism, anarchism, religious orthodoxy, modernism, and assimilation.
