The environmental education center and cultural campus in Ulster County at the foot of the Catskill Mountains will be holding a Holiday Craft and Book Faire—and clothing drive. But instead of simply selling gifts, the Ashokan Center is offering the opportunity to make your own. If you’ve had enough of box stores and online shopping, then place yourself under the guidance of the Ashokan Center elves (staff members, actually) who will be on site to assist you in the Tin Shop for ornament making.

And—please bring coats, hats, boots and gloves to donate for the Ashokan Center’s winter clothing drive. The Ashokan Center throughout the year hosts children for field trips on its 385-acre outdoor campus, and many school kids arrive without the proper outdoor gear. We want them to make the most of their visit here and enjoy our great outdoors!
